Okay so my only qualm is the time it'll take me to get to school. I don't mind a commute but 1 hour and 45 minutes to get to midwood is really tough. If we could settle on something that finds us in middle ground then all is well.

Oh okay I see Midwood, with that in mind you don't want to live in bushwick or bedford or like crown heights those places are a bit out of the way.
