Heeeeyyy people!
Okay so I made this so we could all talk in one space about who we are, what kinda things we need personally out of a living space, etc. It'll be easier for us all to have a group conversation!
Re: Heeeeyyy people!
Yay! I am Natalie (ymoja.tumblr.com). I go to LAGCC and I live in Brooklyn currently.
Re: Heeeeyyy people!
Duh, I should have wrote some stuff about us:
Demi (that's me!):
21, currently working at Whole Foods in the city, Leo, introvert, vegetarian.
Malika (my girlfriend):
20, also an introvert, works at Terri (vegan restaurant in the city), loves skateboarding, loves the outdoors, vegetarian.
We're both quite quiet at times, like out last roommates had trouble telling whether we were home a lot. Sometimes we spend a lot of time in our room. We're really big on noise levels as far as being loud at night and stuff goes, like being inconsiderately loud is something that really bothers us. We also really don't like leaving a huge mess in a common space. Like 1 or 2 dishes is fine if you're in a rush or something, but we'd never leave a sink full of dishes. We plan on getting a dog within the next year, which we'll raise to be well-behaved (I used to work with dogs), so our main requirement is dogs allowed, and of course not too far from transportation.

Re: Heeeeyyy people!
I probably didn't put enough information. I am 19, I will be 20 next month (26th)... UMMM. I'm a fine arts major. Stacy and I want to get a hedgehog!
I love to cook and I hate a dirty kitchen. I don't mine places looking homey or lived- in but there's lived-in and there's just plain old nasty mess, lol. I will let Stacy write her own thing but we are both pretty quiet and will probably spend a lot of time outside the house hanging out or inside playing video games, on tumblr, and me studying for school.

Re: Heeeeyyy people!
Hey yall I'm GĂ©nesis (pronounced hennessy)! I'm 23, I work from 7a-5p at a junior hs in Brooklyn with City Year. I'm extroverted, but people wear me out sometimes, so I have my introverted days. I'm kinda loquacious, but I can take hints and I wont be too chatty if that's what you need lol
I'm opposed to massive messes in communal spaces, but I'm ok with things being homey Same as yall, hella dishes in the sink freak me out, so please refrain (I wont make a fuss if it happens just occasionally). I'm really vocal, and understanding, all the more so if I'm living with others. I have a partner, and I expect they'll be over sometimes. I work all day, I'm a pretty light sleeper, but I wont be too imposing cause I know it's kind of a personal problem.

Hey hey hey
I'm Christine! 22. Capricorn. fun & boring. short and sweet. I'm from Chicago and making my transition into New York after spending last summer in BK interning at the BK hip-hop festival and wanting to explore more. I'll be a transfer student at Kingsborough College for the spring/summer and will transfer AGAIN to BK College for Africana studies&Urban Policy. I am a student so I have to be able to work at home. I like clean bathrooms & kitchens, warm rooms, & friendly/respectful roomates. I can be pretty reserved but I love getting to know people and making friends. I like to cook & drink wine & enjoy company. I want to be close to the train/bus/grocery/etc. I need the sun so lots of windows are necessary. Wood floors are a plus!! The apartment in the link looks cool. Unfortunately I won't be in BK until next weekend....
BTW I have to say I LOVE this forum. So organized. I like you already lol

Re: Heeeeyyy people!
Hi! I'm Anastasia (Stacy). I'm 23 years old, introverted, but once I get to know somebody I usually become extroverted. I basically live on my computer. I'm in the career of film/media. I am currently employed as a cashier but I am always looking for more work. I love sleeping. I like nice people but love honest people even more. I appreciate a good sense of humor. My only concern is I tend to have to pee in the middle of the night...so are we a flush it down if its brown/let it mellow if its yellow kind of people? or just always flush its cuz ew. I can do either tbh! I'm scared of change (never lived on my own) so you might hear some weeping in the middle of the night because ima miss my fat cat. oh and i love natalie kinda...not really tho...just using her for her butt. omg these lil icons are cute omg they have a cat

It has to be Saturday in the morning because I made plans to see a friend of mine who is going out of town soon. Basically anytime from tomorrow to saturday morning, and then monday on I am just free.

Re: Heeeeyyy people!
Hey everybody!
Sorry I was at work. Okay so Stacy you're a hoot, lol.
Christine would you mind if we go look at it/take pictures and stuff/ask any questions you might have when we view it? I figure we probably won't find a time where we all can make it so maybe just a few of us should go when we can.
I'm gonna call the womyn again tomorrow and ask her the earliest time we could come on Saturday, as well as when she's looking to have tenants move in.

Re: Heeeeyyy people!
Alright so I called Keyanna (the womyn renting the apartment), she said the earliest we can come is 11 AM on Saturday. Is that early enough Natalie?
Also, Stacy, btw, I think we're a flush-at-all-times sort of group lmao.

YES flush at all times, that's perfect, it's actually RIGHT around the corner from my grandmother's business/the place I volunteer at sometimes.

Re: Heeeeyyy people!
Hey ladies! So sorry about earlier. When I checked the address I noticed it's pushing 2 hours from school (near sheepshead bay). I'd have to take the train out of BK into the city and then back into BK. I kinda assumed that you all were still looking at other places so I thought we kinda had a back up plan. If it's alright with everyone I'd like to consider apartments in a more centralized location. I.E Bedstuy, Crown Heights, Prospect Park, Ditmas Park even east flatbush. I know express trains through BK and trains straight to the city run thru/or at least closer to those neighborhoods making it all the more easy to make moves within BK. Demi made a great point to me earlier about us all being on the same page.
So here's a list of things that important to me in this search:
1. Location ( Having a commute 1+15 min. or less to get to school or 30 minutes to get into the city)
2. Walking distance to trains/bus (10-15 min)
3. Proximity to neighborhood grocery store/restaurants
4. Basically if we could pick that apartment building up and put it as close to Atlantic terminal as our budgets will allow... I'm good.

Re: Heeeeyyy people!
Also!
I found some places today. Unfortunately I can't post them because I haven't been a member for more than 7 days I sent the links to Demi If I could get email addresses that would be cool. I will keep looking. Goal is still to move in by the first so securing something by this weekend would be perfect. I know that I'm not in town so it's annoying that you all have to schedule the running around and what not but I'll do as much as I can from where I am. I get to town on late Sunday/early Monday so if it comes to it I can schedule to look with you when I'm back. Feel free to call or text me 224-216-9059 THANKS

Re: Heeeeyyy people!
I really like the one on Monroe street but none of those are pet friendly. The first is the one I was talking about that is riiight down the street from the grove place, so I think it would be kind of silly to give up the grove place only for a more expensive place not that far away.
